Find an existing unit or work with CCA to start one in your community.

Find a Unit

Tell us your general location, the prospective member’s age, and the program you need. CCA will determine whether an appropriate unit or nearby contact is available and respond with the next step.

Information to include

  • City, county, or general region
  • Age of the prospective youth member
  • Beaver, Cub, Boy Cadet, or Rover program
  • Whether a church, school, or community group may sponsor a unit
  • Best email address for a reply

Privacy: Do not send medical information, sensitive youth records, or a child’s full private details through ordinary email. A parent, guardian, or responsible adult should make the first contact.

Start a Unit

A church, school, community group, or other legal entity may serve as a chartered organization. CCA will help prospective leaders understand the program, adult roles, training, and next steps.

  1. Organize: Identify a chartered organization and adults willing to learn the CCA program.
  2. Train: Work with CCA on youth leadership, safety, program methods, administration, and Rover Officer responsibilities.
  3. Launch: Recruit families, organize the unit, begin meetings, and build toward outdoor activities and service.

Programs

  • Beaver Cadet colony for ages 4–6
  • Cub Cadet pack for ages 7–11
  • Boy Cadet troop for ages 12–17
  • Rover Officer crew for adults ages 18+

Include your city or region, sponsoring organization, intended program, and the names of the adults who want to help.

Your first week checklist

  • Show up ready: bring a pen or pencil, a water bottle, and a good attitude.
  • Learn your patrol: find your Patrol Leader and ask what your job is today.
  • Be useful immediately: take a job such as setup, cleanup, flags, or gear, and do it well.
  • Be reliable: keep your word. If you cannot, say so early and make it right.
  • Stay safe: use the buddy system and speak up when something feels unsafe.

How to Register

Contact CCA directly. CCA will provide the current registration, permission, medical, payment, and unit instructions for the prospective member’s program.
